Step 5: Write Work Experience That Shows Results
Employers care about outcomes. Your bullets should show impact, not just tasks.
For each job, include job title, company, location, and dates. Then add 3 to 6 bullets focused on achievements.
The easiest way to write strong bullets is to use a simple structure:
🧩
Bullet formula
Action verb + what you did + how you did it + result.
Example: Improved onboarding by redesigning the training checklist, reducing new hire ramp time by 20 percent.
Strong bullets
- Resolved 40 to 60 customer tickets daily while maintaining high satisfaction scores.
- Reduced processing delays by improving workflow coordination across teams.
- Trained new team members and created quick guides to improve consistency.
Weak bullets
- Responsible for helping customers.
- Worked with other departments.
- Did data entry and other tasks.
If you do not have numbers, you can still show impact by describing speed, quality, volume, accuracy, leadership, or improvements.
